GASPING
In 2019, I collaborated with a multi-racial, cross-generational cast to tour my play GASPING to eight communities in New England and New York. Exploring how white supremacy is passed from parent to child in progressive, middle class communities, the piece also serves to build dialogue and raise funds: to date, over 1,000 people have participated in post-play workshops and and GASPING has raised over $20,000 for Black, Indigenous and People of Color-led organizing. A COMMUNITY-DRIVEN PROCESS...]GASPING was developed through years of workshops in living rooms, community centers, and at Alternate ROOTS, Hampshire College, and the Ko Festival of Performance (funded by Network of Ensemble Theaters)
